Summer Update Part Two

Tennis Camp!
The three oldest girls started out the summer with a session of Tennis camp at Oak Island Park, I didn't get to many pictures of it because they got to stay for 3 hours! I snuck in a few shots while they were gettin ready to end one of the practices, I didn't want Livy posing! They liked it so much that they ended up taking a second session. This is such a great sport, and I hope the girls continue to enjoy it! Amelia will be able to take it next year too! They loved the tennis, but not as much as Swim Lessons!!!

This was by far the best year yet, the weather mostly cooperated, and I feel like all four of the kids really learned a lot this year. I am so proud of these girls, they put in a lot of effort and gained great skills in return. I am happy to know they will all be strong swimmers.

Olivia learned so much this year!

Here she is (deep in the middle) perfecting her breast stroke!

After 3 weeks, she finally was willing to dive off of the diving board, it was AWESOME! I am so proud of her!

This year was Amelia's first year of swim lessons and she did great!
Here she is learning to dive

and floating!

don't forget the kicks!

Allie did great this year too! Here she is jumping off the diving board!

Allie is preparing to dive off of the side! Check out her form!

Meredith is a great swimmer and she really seems to love the water!

look, it's a floating Deef!

Soccer! I do enjoy the summer soccer, but this year it was quite hot! These kids played hard and we saw a huge improvement from last year. I love that we play with mostly the same kids every year, and we've had the same coach too! It's a fun group of parents, and really good kids!

Here's Livy getting the ball away!

Summer Update Part One

This has been one busy summer! Besides Todd and I working a lot, he has been on call and layed up for a while (more on that later), I have had several classes and meetings, and we have been running the kids everywhere! We are very lucky though, the kiddos wouldn't be able to be involved in anything if it wasn't for Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Sue. They help get the kids where they are suppose to be (so Thank you all SO SO MUCH!!!) when they are suppose to be there. It all seems to work out, but it's been busy, and I think we are all glad the activities have settled down so that we can get back on normal schedules and get ready for school to start!
To begin the update... the 4th of July! Sue and I took the kids to Willow Springs Garden. They had a variety of activities throughout the day and fireworks in the evening. Best of all, it was free to get in!
There was a petting zoo with farm animals
Livy and Allie with the chicks

The petting zoo was inside that round barn!

it was such a beautiful day to spend with these beautiful girls
of course we had to play with the kitties
Amelia, the cat-whisperer
Meredith LOVED this one!Amelia kept making this one fall asleep

Livy really liked the bunnies
and we learned something new... bunnies can play dead!

George Washington sighting! We saw Abe Lincoln and his wife Mary, but they were eating lunch, so I didn't take their picture!
Amelia on her first pony ride!

Olivia got to ride a horse, I think she was nervous!

Look at his hinder! It's been decorated for the 4th!

Amelia and Allie, waiting patiently for their turn!

there was also a tent with some activities, the girls really enjoyed talking to this lady
Willow Springs also has a car show on the 4th, so...

Happy July~4th~O~Ten!

There were many other things to see and do, and lots of food!
This will be somewhere to check out year after year.

Happy 4th Birthday Amelia!

Well... little miss Amelia Rose turned 4!
One of the things we love most about her, is her ability to express exactly how she is feeling with her face. She has always done this. From almost the instant we brought her home we could tell she would keep us on our toes, and always keep us laughing.
Amelia gets to share her special day with her cousin Allie, who turned 8. You can see more pictures here.
We celebrated both birthdays and fathers day with a cookout and little party! We enjoyed burgers cooked by dad, and homemade cake (fashioned into her best friend) and homemade vanilla icecream!

here we are relaxing before the festivities...

getting exactly what she wanted, a Nintendo Dsi...
