Last of the Leaves

We Spent last weekend simply enjoying the wonderful weather and beautiful leaves before they fell. Todd has found some really neat hidden treasures and decided to share them with us. The first stop was this giant sandstone rock formation literally in the middle of know where. The rock was beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice, and we had a great time climbing it! Olivia had just finished her last soccer game, and we brought along her friend Mikala. This was truly an amazing day.

You can see how small Liv, Kala, and Todd look, this rock is HUGE!

Can you find Todd in the picture above?

These were taken at our second stop. A very small town, Montello, that has an old granite quarry in the middle of the town. A very wealthy man paid for the city to turn the quarry into 4 water falls. Unfortunately because we haven't had enough rain, the water was too low and they only had 1 of the 4 falls running but it was still very pretty.

The little church represents a church that stood there before the quarry was dug. There is a sign posted here that says that after samples of granite were tested from all over the world, the granite from this very quarry was chosen for Grant's Tomb. ( i thought this was kinda cool)

The splashing falls felt good on this very sunny, warm day!
